Feast of the Guardian Angels-October 2nd. The Feast is a Catholic festival celebrated annually, Pope Paul V was the first Pope in 1608 to authorise a feast day in honour of the angels. Catholics believe that each soul has an angel assigned to it, give it guidance from the moment of its birthits journey on earth. Our guardian angels will accompany us to heaven or purgatorywe leave this earth.Angels are none corporeal beings our guardian angels are the lowest in the rank of the hierarchy of angels but they aresinless pure beings of light who worship and adore God.The angles help us in various ways protecting us from demons and encouraging us to do good work . The angels cannot however affect the free will of humanitybut only the senses and the imagination, and through these, the intellect. Our angels will inter-cess for us here on earth. «Beside each believer stands an angel as a protector and shepherd leading him to life» «Angel of God my guardian dear, to whom God´s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide».
