Catechism classes

Catechism classes and lessons

In the Parish Church of Santo Cristo del Calvario, there are baptism classes for parents and godparents. Parents are directly responsible for the bringing up their children in the faith-a responsibility, they assumed when they got married and asked for their children to be baptized.

For these children who are being prepared for their First Communion, there are three courses and one class per week. At present, there are catechism classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6 o’clock in the Parish rooms.

There are also catechism classes on Saturday mornings at 11 o’clock for those young people who want to prepare themselves for Confirmation and/or First Communion.

There are also classes for those adults who want a deeper initiation into the Catholic faith, provided that they have the training and knowledge necessary for Confirmation.

Catechism Courses to prepare those about to be married

The Parish will restart the catechism classes on Marriage in February and these will take place every three months. They will be given jointly with the parishes within the city of Marbella; Nuestra Senora de la Encarnación, Divina Pastora and Santo Cristo documentadel Calvario.

These  will last one week and take place every day for about 90 minutes. These will include chats, videos and an actual wedding rehearsal.
