Words for life
5th Sunday of Ordinary Time
In the three readings of this Sunday, we meet three people who have something in common. What they have in common was that they were called by God, but felt unworthy, incomplete sinners. Isaiah says: «Poor me! I am doomed. For I am a man of unclean lips…» St. Paul says: «I am the last of the apostles because I persecuted the Church of God.» St. Peter says: «Leave me, Lord, for I am a sinful man».
The three felt unworthy to be called by God, but with the persistence of the call they responded with generosity.
