WORDS FOR LIFE: February 28th 2016
III Sunday of Lent
- In this morning´s passage, we have read about the Lord´s views on conversion and the consequences of non-conversion: death and eternal condemnation.
- But what is «conversion»? If we look for this word, we find its meaning clear in other passages of St.Luke´s Gospel.
- It means leaving behind our past sinful life. In Chapter 17, our Lord tells his disciples: » If your brother offends you, rebuke him and if he is sorry, forgive him. If he offends you seven times in a day but says to you seven times, «I´m sorry», forgive him.» Therefore, conversion signifies repenting and leaving behind one´s past sinful life.
